Joel Embiid Out for the Season

I’ve been dormant today moving in furniture to my apartment. Humblebrag city, but a king size mattress is honestly the heaviest thing I’ve ever moved.

With the NHL trade deadline ending I still didn’t miss much. Flyers re-signed a back up goaltender (Michael Neuvirth) and 4th line forward (Pierre Edouard-Bellemare), and traded Mark Streit for a Finnish 32 y/o center with a no trade clause and two draft picks.

The big news here and what this post is dedicated to is Joel Embiid finishing his season on January 27. Surgery is probable, and we won’t see him and Ben Simmons when it matters until Halloween.

Most Sixers fans thought once Simmons went down shutting down Embiid was almost imminent. What rubs me the wrong way is the way this “process” was handled. The Sixers listed Embiid as day to day until Derek Bodner scooped the Sixers about the injury being a meniscus tear and they had to release a statement. Last Friday when Colangelo said in his press conference that Embiid was out indefinitely you could see the headline in your mind,”Embiid Out For the Season”.

So where do we go from here? Continue watching Dario Saric who will probably win East Rookie of the month for February, as well as the Rookie of the Year. Root for the continued surge of Richaun Holmes. Last, tank, tank, tank and hope the Lakers pick falls to 4
