The Indiana Pacers have thrown their hat in the Jahlil Okafor trade rumors ring. As reported by a litany of reporters – ESPN’s Shelburne, Chris Haynes, and Jeff Goodman say the Pacers are trying to get more help for Paul George, whose contract expires after next season. Indiana is reportedly offering the first round pick to the highest bidder, a pick that right now sits just outside the lottery.
An interesting move for the Pacers as they already have a mid level star in Myles Turner and big man Al Jefferson. Okafor could net a return that wouldn’t necessarily light the league on fire, but be more Hinkie-esque by nature and focus on acquiring a pick and an expiring contract.
Btw…”Do the Deal”
UPDATE: A report from David Aldridge on NBA TV says Jahlil “will be moved by Thursday.” Potential landing spots are the Pacers, Lakers, and Kings. I am salivating over how we can squeeze more from Vivek and Vlade.
My God that is beautiful!
